Description
Smoky Quartz Citrine is a varietal of the quartz family. Its name is derived from the Latin word “Citrina” because of its pale yellow citrus color (due to its iron content). From the earliest of times, Citrine was called the “Sun Stone” as it was thought capable of holding and emitting the light from the sun. Also known as the “Merchants Stone”.Citrine crystals are formed when Purple Amethyst undergoes heat treatment. This is why they’re also often times called ‘burnt amethyst’.
Citrine is an excellent crystal for interpersonal relationships. It smooths family or group problems, and promotes solutions and cohesiveness. [Melody, 210] It also helps in understanding and dealing with absorbed impressions from those around us. It carries the healing power of the sun. This sturdy and powerful stone transmutes, dissipates, and grounds negative energy, making it extremely protective for the environment. It works out energetic issues on both the physical and subtle levels, transforming negative thoughts and feelings into positive ones. It is one of only two crystals on Earth that never needs to be cleared or cleansed. It is the quintessential trans-mutational stone.
